The Tao of Wu

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to The Tao of Wu blog!!!

Our LAST unit of this course involves the reading and examination of the text The Tao of Wu by acclaimed artist and writer The RZA of Wu-Tang Clan.

Over the course of the next two weeks, we will be reading this text (primarily IN-CLASS), posting dialogues and responses on this blog, and writing research reports based on the themes that arise.

Your Tasks!

You will complete two tasks per Pillar (section) of The Tao of Wu. Instructions for these blog posts are as follows:

TASK ONE:

For each Pillar, you will create one question to pose to your peers in relation to the topics/ events/ people/ ideas read and discussed in that pillar. Use the guided reading questions from your Pillar handouts to give you ideas.

Try to come up with a question that will get people interested and thinking about the topic discussed.

Your questions MUST be CRITICAL THINKING questions like the ones answered on your daily pillar handouts and in-class discussion.

Successful questions will:

1. Be well thought-out/original
2. Be grammatically and mechanically correct (NO SPELLING MISTAKES)
3. Demand that your peers to think critically about what some of the important issues/ events/ ideas/ teachings were and/or how they feel about the topic personally.

TASK TWO:

Complete one response per Pillar to a question posted on the blog by one of your peers (you may NOT answer your own question).

Successful responses will:

1. Demonstrate thorough preparation through reading (cite pg. #s)
2. Show careful thought and challenge peers to think critically
3. Address the question completely
4. Be very detailed (use paragraph form) and provide evidence from the text to illustrate your ideas
