"Throughout his life, The RZA studied the Supreme Mathematics of Gods and Earths and many world religions. From these studies, he noted that both the Supreme Mathematics and the religions he connected to considered the number seven as divine and symbolic of the consciousness. When it came to writing The Tao of Wu, The RZA decided to divide his text into "Seven Pillars of Wisdom." Each pillar reflects a key turning point in his life that he wishes to share with his audience. He does this because he hope his readers will learn from his experiences and connect to or be inspired by his personal journey on the path to enlightenment."

Around 1991 why where things bad for the RZA ?

In 1991 things were bad for the people of New York including RZA. It was a time of real struggle, he was making little money, a friend had died and people were trying to kill him. This period of time made him do what he had to do in order to survive, though resulted in betrayal of himself.

I think RZA meant that 85 percent of children do not use their own brains. They listen to their parents who tell them wrong, they listen to people who say they cant do something, they go and be a doctor or a pharmacist because it "makes money". People grow up learning the same thing, reading the same books, going with the same rules. These people will never break the chain, be set free to find themself, who they truly are and what they really want. They wont ever see what life could really offer. I think its true, because there's only that one in a million that wants to be something else besides that person who goes to school, gets a job has a family then dies. Thats a regular life, and how many people are destined to live like that? How many people will go on to be legends. That all comes with choice. Choice to be that change you want to see in the world.

RZA believes that the 85% is the people in society that do what is expected of them no questions asked. They don't think for themselves and take what the media and the government give to them as truth. They limit themselves by listening to society when they are told that what they want is impossible, and follow trends, no matter how ridiculous the trends are. RZA believes that the children of our culture are being trained to be just as, if not more brainwashed than the previous generation. When many people have knowledge of self, they threaten the power of the 10%. When people have knowledge of self, they don't take what is given to them without thinking for themselves, and challenging the people with power. So the media and society, and even the people in our lives try and get children to follow in their footsteps.

DeleteI think RZA is trying to explain an escalating issue in our society which hasn't gotten any better at all considering he mentions this in 2009 when the book was released but realistically imagine how long ago he was aware of this. Unfortunately nothing has really changed, everyone is still frankly very confused by what they think is important and essential in life.They’re too focused on all the wrong things one of them typically being money; it’s the root of this growing problem. They assume they know what’ll bring them happiness solely based on what they’re constantly being exposed to see ALL the time, they start to get this false understanding of what their future should be like. People instantly get the mentality of ‘monkey see monkey do” or as RZA’s mentioned being another robot in this world. Sadly this is the reason why today we are still faced with the 85% issue because the robots already in our world, in the movies, in tabloids and plastered everywhere on their television screen. No one even bothers to realize their real goals and aspirations in life anymore, they’re too busy being brainwashed into seeing and believing what they’re told is the most desired/must have thing.
DeleteIt’s all the truth with the exception of if you have the lifestyle of someone who is consider being an “85%” but you achieved all of it because you wanted it and in an honest way then I applaud you, as long as you’re doing what you want and desire in life there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Keeping yourself happy and the ones you care about is the most important thing; if you can maintain that then for sure I’d have to consider buying myself a gorgeous Rolex as a treat!

How did RZA get charged with attempted murder? and how long was he in jail for ?

one he gained clarity about their legal system its unfairness of matching crime and punishment. but two he gained clarity about his life, on top of everything else, he had gotten his girlfriend pregnant, and at that time he was in jail for thirty days and started thinking about this, how i had baby girl coming, how i had to change my life. at this point his daughter be would be the highest achievement of his life. He stoped smoking, stopped drinking, and start studing the lessons again.

ReplyDeleteI don't believe being one of the 85% is always a bad thing. I believe this because it's always good to have a right hand leading you, to give you advice and watch over you, so you don't take the wrong path in life. At the same time people make mistakes to learn from them. If you don't make a mistake how will you even know if it was a mistake or not? In our society now when people tell us not do something it's more likely that we will do it. In conclusion, I believe that being one of the 85% percent isn't necessarily always a bad thing because the ones that are usually telling us what to do and right from wrong are our loved ones. Usually are loved ones don't want to see us hurting or would want to hurt us but learning from your own mistakes always has its benefits in a variety of ways. Once you go through a scenario you will know if it benefited you or not and if it was the right thing to do or a mistake. Everyone has their own opinion depending on the circumstance and what one person thinks is the wrong thing might be the right thing in another person's eyes.

Personally I do think it's bad. to say that there are so many of us that don't think for themselves. Why do we as people find its so easy to agree that it's the media way or the high way. In my eye the media is making everyone in to selfish" I'm better than everyone els "zombies. We as a whole society are taken to the stereo types. That women are dumb if there pretty and that men have to be some big shot to ever see any respect. These my friends are not true. Why do we underestimated what we as people can do? Why do we judge others for there differences? Why do we feel the need to be better than anybody else? Why can't we e happy for ourselves and others?

The RZA establishes that he was the leader of the group and no one could question his authority when he started the group. Do you believed that groups can last under dictatorships, or do you believe that the system has to change?
ReplyDeleteI think that for a music group to become big and stay big it can't be lead under a dictatorship because every one has an opion that make the group better and yes the system has to change so it can grow and become better.

After RZA got charger and sent to jail he had a lot of concerns on his mind not only for himself but his unborn daughter. What influenced his idea for her name? If that experienced never occurred do you think RZA might have named her something more common or" average"? If you were having a child would you want them to have a unique name? Yes or no? Explain why.

The RZA speaks about how martial arts are a form of prayer and a technique to become better at praying. Do you agree or disagree with the idea that being physically fit or in-tune with your physical body is important for prayer?
